Why this happens
Turmeric contains curcumin, which has natural antiplatelet (blood-thinning) effects. Chondroitin is chemically similar to heparin, a common blood-thinning medication, and may also slow down blood clotting. When used together, these effects can add up, making your blood take longer to clot.
What you should do

If you are scheduled for surgery, stop taking both supplements at least two weeks beforehand. If you already take prescription blood thinners (like warfarin or apixaban) or antiplatelet drugs (like aspirin or clopidogrel), do not combine these supplements without speaking to your doctor first.
