Why this happens

Alprazolam is primarily broken down by a liver enzyme called CYP3A4, while celecoxib is processed by a different enzyme called CYP2C9. Because they use different pathways in the liver, they do not compete for metabolism. Additionally, alprazolam works on the central nervous system to reduce anxiety, while celecoxib works on enzymes (COX-2) to reduce inflammation and pain, meaning their effects do not overlap in a way that causes harm.

You can take these two medicines together as prescribed by your doctor. Always follow the recommended dosages for both. If you feel unusually drowsy or dizzy, or if you notice any new or unexpected symptoms, contact your doctor or pharmacist for advice.
