Why this happens

Abiraterone blocks certain proteins in the body (specifically OATP1B1 and BCRP) that are responsible for moving Crestor into the liver and clearing it from your system. When these proteins are blocked, the level of Crestor in your bloodstream rises.

You must speak to your doctor before taking these together. They may need to prescribe a lower dose of Crestor or monitor you more closely. If you experience any unexplained muscle pain, tenderness, or weakness, contact your doctor immediately.
