Can I take 60 and Omeprazole together?

Omeprazole can significantly reduce the amount of 60 (nelfinavir) that your body absorbs. This can make the HIV medication much less effective, potentially leading to the virus becoming resistant to treatment.

Why this happens

Nelfinavir needs a certain level of stomach acid to dissolve and be absorbed into the bloodstream. Omeprazole reduces stomach acid, which prevents nelfinavir from being absorbed properly.

You must not take omeprazole while you are taking nelfinavir. If you have symptoms of indigestion or acid reflux, speak to your doctor or pharmacist about safer alternatives that do not interfere with your HIV medication.
