There is no known interaction between orlistat (Alli) and citalopram (Cipramil). However, both medications can occasionally cause stomach-related side effects like loose stools or nausea, which might be more noticeable if they occur at the same time.

Why this happens
Orlistat works locally in the gut to prevent fat absorption and is not absorbed into the bloodstream. Citalopram is absorbed into the blood to work on the brain. Because they work in different parts of the body and are processed by different pathways, they do not interfere with each other's effectiveness.
